A  Look  Inside  the  SCTL ...

In the SCTL Conference Room, we get together for equal parts research talk and birthday celebrations!

We have a bunch of activities set up for everyone to enjoy.

In the SCTL Office doing what we love - talking to families about our work!
Behind that painted door is our EEG room.

Inside the EEG Room, we have a salon-style chair and sink to help
participants comfortably wash gel off after finishing activities in our EEG.

SCTLers Lindsay and Jackie get Arjun prepped for an EEG run.
Arjun is wearing an EEG cap, similar to a swimmer's cap, with sensors on the outside of it.
Jackie and Lindsay are putting clear, cool gel into each sensor on the cap to help the sensors read the "signals" from Arjun's brain. When the signal is coming through strong, the sensors light up green.
This procedure, called electroencephalogram (EEG), is totally painless and non-invasive.
EEG Gelling
Once the cap is on, Arjun sits inside the WhisperRoom, which helps insulate the sensors from reading anything except Arjun's brain responses. Inside the WhisperRoom, he will do activities, like looking at faces or making choices about social scenarios, using this computer and button box.
