All Kids Fair
Sunday, April 23rd 10:00 am, Samanea Mall
Come visit the SCTL at the All Kids Fair on Sunday, April 23rd at 10 AM to 4:30 PM! This event will take place in Westbury at Samanea Mall (formerly the Source Mall). There will be many exhibitors and free activities such as face painting, bounce houses, ballroom animals, and a petting zoo.
Make sure to stop by the SCTL table where we will be sharing information about our valuable resources and current studies. You can purchase tickets for kids and adults in advance at www.AllKidsFair.com. We hope to see you there!

Girls Discover STEM Day at SBU

This past weekend, the SCTL team attended the Girls Discover Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) Day at Stony Brook University (SBU)! Organized by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), different engineering societies at SBU hosted workshops for Girl Scouts at the event. The day was filled with hands-on STEM activities. The SCTL team had a great time and were excited to teach young girls more about autism research! We hope to see you at future events!

Stony Brook University: Peter & the Wolf - Family Show
Sunday, March 26th 3:00 pm, Staller Center - Recital Hall
The Staller Center at Stony Brook University is presenting “Peter and the Wolf,” a narrated concert piece for kids of all ages to experience classical music! It is described as a “symphonic fairy tale for children” where the narrator tells a children’s story while the orchestra brings it to life. The show is taking place on Sunday, March 26, at 3:00 PM.

The Social Competence & Treatment Lab invites you to join us at the East Islip Resource Fair! There will be over 20+ services & programs that are available for neurodivergent children in the community. There will be live entertainment and child care provided during the event. Stop by the SCTL table to say hi! We hope to see you there!

Healthy Smiles Storytime with SBU

Come celebrate Tooth Fairy Day and Pediatric Dental Awareness month with the SCTL and other Stony Brook University students at Patchogue Medford Public Library! The event will be taking place this Saturday, February 18th at 11:00-11:45 AM. Families will learn tips and tricks to keep their mouths healthy and have sparkling smiles! Stop by the SCTL table where we will be sharing information about our valuable resources and current studies! We hope to see you there!

connections for and among teens on the autism spectrum” at the parent training at Dawnwood Middle School! SCTL undergraduate research assistants were also in attendance talking to parents and spreading the word about the resources the SCTL offers.

The Social Competence and Treatment Lab invites you to an exciting talk by Dr. Lerner at Saxton Middle School! Dr. Lerner will be presenting some of the research we are carrying out at the SCTL and is excited to be supporting the community members in Patchogue. The SCTL will be having an informational table where we can meet these families and share the work that we do.
