repetitive thinking and behavior in autism research study-
Participants wanted!
Ava Gurba, masters student in neuroscience at Stony Brook University, and Elliot Gavin Keenan, PhD candidate at UCLA, are recruiting autistic adults for a quantitative online survey study examining the relationships between sticky thinking (repetitive thinking), stimming (repetitive behaviors), and mental health. This study has been approved by the North General IRB at UCLA ((IRB#22-000321).
Who can participate?
If interested in participating or have any questions?
Please email Elliot Gavin Keenan at [email protected] for access to the online survey. We will follow up two weeks after that with the link to the second survey.
Who can participate?
- Individuals age 18+
- People who identify as autistic or as having autism (both official and self-diagnosed autistic individuals are included)
- Individuals from anywhere in the world can participate
- Individuals will complete two 30 minute online surveys two weeks apart, consisting of several sets of multiple choice questions.
- We hope that the results of this study inform our understanding of the relationships between sticky thinking, stimming and other repetitive behaviors, and mental health in autistic people. We also hope that these results would inform future mental health therapies for conditions such as depression or anxiety.
